Automatic swing gates — Winnipeg

Swing gates.
Hinged precision.

Single or dual swing in steel, aluminum, or ornamental finish. Hinge hardware oversized for Manitoba conditions, automated with operators that don’t care what month it is.

Swing configurations we install

How wide is the opening, how much swing room do you have, and what does the gate need to look like? We design from those three answers.

Single Swing 8-16 ft

The standard residential driveway gate. Single leaf swings inward, hinged to a heavy gate post.

Dual Swing 16-30 ft

Two leaves, each hinged on opposite side, meeting in the middle. The wider opening solution where slide isn't an option.

Ornamental Swing

Powder-coated steel or aluminum picket panel gates — matching the ornamental fence run, automated invisibly.

Security Swing

Welded steel frame with anti-climb mesh or solid panel infill. Industrial yards and high-security commercial sites.

Estate Swing

Custom-fabricated heavy estate gates with decorative metalwork — fabrication-shop work, not catalog product.

Pedestrian Companion Gates

Matching pedestrian gates in the fence line beside the driveway gate — for foot traffic that doesn't need the full opening.

What separates a 20-year swing gate from a 5-year one

Swing gates fail in three places: the hinge, the post, and the operator. We over-spec all three.

Post spec for swing & bifold gates

Swing and bifold gates don’t ride on a track — the full weight of the gate hangs from the hinge posts. That means the support posts need to be significantly heavier and deeper than a standard fence post.

Post depth

Gate posts are set 6–8 ft deep — deeper if the client has the budget. This is well below Manitoba’s frost line, which prevents heave from shifting the gate out of alignment.

Heavy-gauge pipe

4-inch or 6-inch schedule 40 steel pipe, sized to carry the suspended weight of the gate leaf without flexing over time.

No ground contact

We don’t install any automated gate that touches the ground. Swing and bifold gates are designed to clear the surface so snow and frost never interfere with operation.

Swing or slide — how to decide

Most customers have a preference, but the site conditions usually make the decision.

Choose swing when…

You have room for the gate to arc open, the driveway is relatively flat (steep slopes bring the gate too close to the ground), and you want the most affordable option. A single swing gate with one operator is the lowest-cost automated gate.

Choose slide when…

The opening is wide, there’s no room for a swing arc, or traffic volume is high. Grade needs to be relatively even along the gate path perpendicular to the driveway. Double swing and slide gates land in a similar price range.

S Tier builds the whole perimeter, not just the fence. Fewer trades on site, one number to call when something needs attention.
